President Gitanas Nausėda congratulated President Andrzej Duda of Poland and the Polish people as the two countries celebrate 3 MayConstitution Day.
In his official message of congratulations, the President expressed his delight of having had the opportunity to commemorate the historic milestone ofthe 230th anniversary of the Constitution of 3 May in Warsaw last year together with the Polish President and to meet later again in Vilnius to celebrate the 230th anniversary of the Mutual Pledge of the Two Nations. According to the President, these two dates reflect unbreakable solidarity between Lithuania and Poland, as well as the ambition of both nations to create a space of peace, democracy, and prosperity.
“Today, the motto of 3 May Constitution – For Our Freedom and Yours – which has inspired generations in the struggle for freedom and independence, is as relevant as ever. Ukraine is facing military aggression from Russia and is fighting for the security of both its own people and all Europeans. We must continue tofirmly stand by our Ukrainian brothers and sisters, and to support their aspirations for European integration by giving them the hope of living in the European Union,” the President wrote.
Gitanas Nausėda underlined that he highly valued close friendship between Lithuania and Poland, a strong EU partner and NATO ally. The President stressed that unity and shared approach to key security and political issues would help the two countries to jointly address all emerging threats and challenges.
