The 23rd Vilnius International Film Festival Kino Pavasaris – the leading cinema event in Lithuania – will take place March 15–29. This year, the festival will visit 11 Lithuanian cities – up from 5 last year.
Vilnius IFF will also hold two major events for industry professionals. Developing Your Film Festival – an intensive programme for film festival organizers taught by some of the world’s leading experts – will take place March 20–25. And the film industry conference Meeting Point – Vilnius will invite cinema professionals to attend seminars, private Industry Screenings and the Coming Soon Session on March 27-29. Lithuanian artist Jurgis Tarabilda created this year’s visual identity, encouraging festivalgoers to find #Filmspiration. His portrayal of a pixelated flower symbolises the synergy between reality and the digital world.
This year’s inspiring programme will include 200 feature and short films from around the world. The programme will be divided into various sections that will offer every viewer a film they’ll love. Over the past year, festival programmers have worked meticulously to finalise a programme that reflects global cinema trends and key filmmaker achievements.
This is also the third year that Vilnius IFF screens the best Lithuanian music videos of 2017, to be judged by an international jury.
