Anti-UAV equipment procured for the Lithuanian Armed Forces

The Defence Materiel Agency under the Ministry of National Defence signed a contract on acquisition of counter-drone equipment with Lithuanian company NT Service last week. New military-purpose equipment designed to detect, identify and neutralize by jamming navigation, visual transmission and control in commercial and military-purpose UAVs.

“Drones have been used more actively recently for intelligence gathering, transportation of cargo that can be a direct threat to people and important infrastructure and military objects. An increased use of UAVs and threats it presents is observed by the Russian forces in the ongoing hostilities in Ukraine,” says Minister of National Defence Arvydas Anušauskas.

The contract covers acquisition of systems in various configurations suitable for guarding military units, objects and critical infrastructure, or if necessary, VIPs as well. Depending on the configuration, the systems are constituted of UAV detection, identification and neutralization modules.

The total worth of the contract is nearly EUR 4 million. A significant part of the procured equipment will be delivered to the Lithuanian Armed Forces still this year.
