WEATHER DIARIES exhibition
Museum of Applied Arts and Design, Arsenalo St. 3A, Vilnius
In this exhibition, artists and curators Sarah Cooper (b. 1974, USA) and Nina Gorfer (b. 1979, Austria) explore the driving forces of creativity on the fashion scene in Iceland, the Faroe Islands and Greenland. Over two years the artist duo have collected stories among local designers and artisans, whose artistic expression has been shaped by the cultures, traditions and surroundings of the islands. Common to the three nations is their isolation, limited resources and the wild, unpredictable weather. This breeds a roughness and fearlessness – and a desire to create.

Halston | DESIGN WEEK cinema
Kino Deli (Smetonos St. 5, Vilnius), Forum Cinemas Vingis (Savanorių St. 7, Vilnius)
A real exclusive, one of the first screenings in the world, right from the Sundance Film Festival to Design Week in Vilnius – a movie about the legendary American fashion designer and prince of New York nightlife: Halston.
DOCUMENTARY, USA, 2019. DIRECTOR: FRÉDÉRIC TCHENG. RUNNING TIME: 98 MIN.
“You are as good as the people you dress.” Roy Halston Frowick.
An intriguing ‘rise and fall’ story in a thrilling film-noir-style documentary about the designer Halston who put America on the global fashion map – from Jacqueline Kennedy’s hats to the top of the fashion world in the 1980s when he challenged the luxury and sophisticated Paris scene at the Palace of Versailles. Director Frédéric Tcheng creates a fully rounded portrait of Halston from the homophobia he faced to the lavish lifestyle he embraced, and the clash between creativity and commerce when the designer sold not only his name but also his soul. “From class to mass” is how best to describe the life of this legend.
